Michaela and Peter – October 1st 2016

This year, I was privileged to photograph the wedding of Michaela and Peter, on October 1st, 2016.

Michaela is the last sister to get married out of the Gulliver girls – I have been lucky enough to photograph both Michaela and Kelsey’s weddings!

This wedding was the first where I had Daniel as my second shooter – which meant that he was able to take some great shots with the guys, while I was with Michaela and her bridesmaids. They even found time to go on an impromptu trip to Burger King – and go mini golfing.  It often makes me laugh to think that while the bride and bridesmaids are worrying about last minute details, the groom and groomsmen are often much more laid back.  I know that at my own wedding, while I had a strict itinerary planned, my husband and his groomsmen promptly threw away the itinerary and went off to drink beer instead.

This wedding was another beautiful showing of friends and family gathered in a beautiful spot – Lake Dore.

It is almost bittersweet to think that there won’t be another wedding there – not for a while at least!

Congratulations to Michaela and Peter – please enjoy, follow the link below to the full album of their beautiful day!

Special thanks to my husband for being my extra body this time around, your hard work and dedication are always appreciated, and working together as a team makes the day even more enjoyable.  xo

Sarah and Blair MacKenzie Part II

Here is the continuation of Sarah and Blair MacKenzie’s wedding on October 10th, 2014!

Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Petawawa was the church that we grew up with, spending many Saturdays, Sundays, Christmases and Easters.  Our Lady of Sorrows Church was where, with the help of Sarah’s grandmother, I ended up being baptized and confirmed.  It was also where we spent many of our nights as teenagers with our group Life Teen.  Many memories at Sorrows, and now another special day to add to the list!

After the ceremony, we high tailed it to the Catwalk for our last round of group photos. We had to make it there quickly, because we wanted to beat sundown.  The Catwalk is a go-to for wedding photography, especially during the fall months due to the beautiful changing leaves.  We managed to get in a few great shots of the lovely couple and family.

My shutter made its last snap at 7:05, just as the sun was starting to set. We made it. My fears had been quashed, and we ended up with some beautiful sunset photos.

Between the photoshoot and the reception, I was able to squeeze in a quick bite before we headed out to the Civic Centre. This is where the party began! Great time with friends, family, and laid back atmosphere.
Everybody enjoyed themselves, and danced the night away.

Thank you so much for letting me share your lovely day with you!

Sarah and Blair MacKenzie Part I

On October 10th, I had the great pleasure of photographing the wedding of one of my closest friends, Sarah. It is so rare that I get to spend as much time and have as much fun as I did with Sarah and Blair on their wedding day.

I have known Sarah since the age of thirteen, where we were probably more interesting in talking about boys than actually marrying them.  It’s hard to believe that after more than ten years, I’m already married, and I am about to see one of my oldest friends get married to an awesome guy! Have a look at how the first half of the day played out!

I got to spend a lovely afternoon with Sarah and her sister Kelsey, bridesmaids Christine and Erin, and ‘bridesman’ Chris getting ready for her big day.

We proceeded out to the deck to take some group photos, just as the sun came out, before heading to the church. On a cloudy, cold, fall afternoon, the sun shining made the outdoor photos really worthwhile.  What was even more worthwhile was the smiles and sense of family.

At this point, the limo had dropped people off and was on the way back to pick up the beautiful bride and bring her to meet Blair at the church. Without Dale waving, we never would have noticed that they were there…

Stay tuned for Part II! I can’t wait to share more of Sarah and Blair’s wedding day here on the blog!
